Description

“Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.”

Wassily Kandinsky

Composition VIII is, without any doubt, one of Wassily Kandinsky’s best known artworks. He painted it in 1923 and was one of the first paintings acquired by The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, where it still is.
