Welcome to the world of weaving your vision
Follow us through the process of creating your bespoke or custom art rug from your preferred artwork or design.
Original artwork
From the moment you choose your inspiration, our journey begins. Whether it is a painting, design, or personal idea, we take your vision and transform it into a bespoke rug. Every detail, from the size and shape to the texture and design, is tailored specifically to your home, ensuring it complements your space perfectly.

Drawing the weaving graph
At this stage, we create a detailed weaving graph, where each colored square represents a single knot in the rug. This graph serves as the blueprint for your rug, and it ensures that every detail of your design is perfectly captured, ready to be woven by hand into the fabric of your new piece of art.

Mockup or Rendering of Your Rug
Before we begin production, we provide you with a digital rendering of your rug. This visualization shows you how your rug will look in the chosen size, colors, and quality.
Disclosure: Please note that, as all dyes are custom mixed and dyed by hand, and due to the natural materials we work with, there may be slight variations in color from what you see on the mockup. Different factors, including the absorption of color by the materials, can affect the final shade. Additionally, computer screens can display colors differently.
This is your chance to make any adjustments. If there is something you would like to change, this is the moment. Once approved, we move forward with crafting your piece.

Selecting colours
With over a thousand dye colors available, we select the perfect shades that align with your vision. If you would like, we can send you yarn samples to review, ensuring that the colors meet your expectations. Our personalized approach guarantees that every hue is chosen to complement the unique essence of your design.

Dyeing
Each yarn hank is individually dyed by hand, using the selected colors. This meticulous process ensures that every strand is vibrant and perfectly matches your design. The dyeing process is an essential step in bringing your rug to life, infusing it with the richness and depth that only hand-dying can provide.

Setting up the loom and the warp
To build the foundation of your rug, hundreds or thousands warp threads are carefully stretched and secured on the loom. These threads create the vertical structure of your rug, and each knot will be attached to one of these threads. This is the first step in turning your design into a tangible masterpiece.

Ready to start
Once the yarn has been dyed and dried, we roll it into neat balls, ready for the weaving process. The weaving graph is then printed and carefully affixed to the loom, where it serves as a guide for our artisans as they begin weaving each row, ensuring your design is followed with precision.

This is where your rug truly begins to take shape. Our artisans use traditional metallic and wooden tools passed down through generations of rug makers. Every knot is tied by hand with the utmost care, and the rug starts to come to life row by row, a tangible representation of your design.

Washing
After the rug is woven, we cut it off the loom, leaving the warp threads visible. It is then carefully washed with clear water and mild detergent to remove any remnants of the weaving process. This step brings out the true texture and vibrancy of the rug, ready for its next stage.

Stretching
After washing, your rug is laid flat to dry and stretched to even out any minor adjustments in the knots. This step ensures that the rug has a smooth, even surface, with all knots in perfect alignment. The rug now takes its final form, ready to bring beauty to your home.

Separating the yarns
To reveal the design in its full glory, we carefully separate the yarns by color. Each individual strand is positioned to reflect the intricate details of the design, ensuring that the patterns and textures are clearly defined and visually stunning.
Binding
After the yarns are positioned, the final step involves cutting the excess warp threads and securing the edges of the rug. The borders are carefully serged to prevent any fraying, ensuring that your rug maintains its pristine appearance for years to come.

Clipping, carving, sculpting
We meticulously trim the yarn to a uniform length or sculpt it to different heights, depending on the design. This step adds depth and texture to your rug, enhancing its visual appeal and tactile experience. Every detail is fine-tuned to create a perfect, three-dimensional masterpiece.

Delivery
After all the craftsmanship, love, and attention to detail, your rug is ready to make its way to you. Once it is complete, it is carefully packed and shipped to its new home.
This has been your rug all the way. Now it finally has come home where it belongs.
Who knows what memories it will become the background of in all the years to come.
