Bespoke Handmade Rugs for Interior Designers

Handmade rugs to reflect your vision and your client’s story

We collaborate with interior designers to translate ideas into bespoke handmade rugs—guided by your concept, your client, and the space itself.

Whether creating a single statement piece or a series of rugs for an entire interior, each project is designed and made by hand, in close dialogue with you. Clear communication, material integrity, and creative freedom are central to the process.

We work as a quiet extension of your studio, translating design intent into rugs that belong naturally within the space.

A Considered Approach to Custom Rugs

The challenge

When sourcing rugs for high-end interiors, designers often encounter familiar obstacles:

  • Standard rugs rarely align with unique spaces or layouts.
  • Quality can shift between samples and final delivery.
  • Artistic intent may be diluted during production.
  • Timelines and communication can feel uncertain.
  • Clients expect originality, not repetition.

These issues arise when rugs are treated as interchangeable products rather than as part of the architectural language of a space.

Our response

We approach rugs as design elements developed in close collaboration with interior designers—each one created specifically for its setting.

  • Fully bespoke designs
  • Handmade by master artisans
  • Developed for specific interiors
  • Produced with museum-level quality control

Every rug is developed as a fine art collaboration, guided by your concept and carried through with care from first idea to final installation.

What defines our work

  • Fine art collaborations with contemporary designers and artist estates
  • Custom luxury rugs shaped by spatial, acoustic, and visual needs
  • Ethically produced, Fair Trade certified
  • Limited editions or one-of-one pieces
  • A transparent process, without hidden compromises

The result is a rug that functions naturally within the interior while retaining the presence of a collectible object.

From an interior designer who wanted to update the client’s favourite rug

Interior Designer

“This reproduction of that antique Moroccan rug is amazing!

My clients were so attached to the original, but it just didn’t work in their new place, too small and totally worn out.

This new one fits perfectly, feels incredibly soft, and ties the whole room together.

They love it, and honestly, so do I!”

Every bespoke handmade rug follows a clear sequence. While timelines can vary depending on size, materials, and technique, most projects move through the following phases:

Exchange of references, drawings, colour palettes, materials, and spatial context. This phase sets the creative and technical foundation.

  • 2. Concept Development & Sampling: 2–4 weeks

Translation of the design vision into rug-specific drawings, material choices, colour matching, and, when required, physical samples.

  • 3. Handmade Production: 6–10 weeks

The rug is produced entirely by hand by skilled artisans using traditional techniques and carefully selected materials.

What Designers Usually Share in the Brief

To develop a rug that integrates seamlessly into your project, designers typically share a combination of the following:

Project context

Type of space, scale, intended atmosphere, and how the rug relates to the architecture.

Visual references

Mood boards, artworks, sketches, images, or any material that captures the design direction.

Plans & dimensions

Floor plans, elevations, or marked areas indicating rug placement and size requirements.

If you need to work out the ideal rug size for a space, our rug size calculator and sizing guide are useful starting points.

Colour & material guidance

Colour palettes, material preferences, finishes, or references such as ARS pom samples, Pantone, RAL, or textiles.

Technical considerations

Usage, foot traffic, acoustic needs, or special requirements.

Timeline & budget range

A clear sense of scheduling constraints and budget parameters helps guide material and technique choices.

The brief does not need to be final. We often develop it further together as the project evolves.

Professional Trust & Standards

Our work follows clear standards designed to support professional design practice and long-term project reliability.

  • Bespoke rugs handmade by master artisans using traditional techniques
  • Ethically produced and Fair Trade certified
  • Transparent timelines and documented production stages
  • Direct collaboration and clear communication throughout the process
  • Worldwide shipping coordination for professional projects

Each project is approached with the same level of care—whether it is a private residence or a complex, multi-stakeholder interior.

We regularly collaborate with designers across Europe, North America, and beyond on bespoke handmade rugs for architectural and interior design projects.

Who This Is For

This service is for interior designers, architects, and studios who treat rugs as an integral part of the spatial concept.

It suits professionals who value thoughtful collaboration, material integrity, and outcomes that align precisely with their design intent.

Who This Is Not For

This is not the right fit for projects seeking ready-made rugs, rapid turnaround, or price-driven solutions.

Our work prioritises craftsmanship, originality, and process over speed or standardisation.

If this sounds aligned with how you work, we’d be happy to discuss your project.

Quick Technical Specifications

Customisation

Questions Designers Frequently Ask

Can you match exact colors and materials?

Yes. We work from ARS wool poms, Pantone, RAL, textile samples, and architectural finishes. Because pigments are mixed and yarns dyed entirely by hand on natural fibers, slight variations of around 3–5% are inherent to the process—and part of what gives each rug its character.

Is there a minimum order?

No. We produce single pieces and full project series.

Can rugs be adapted during the design phase?

Yes. Iteration is part of the process.

Do you work worldwide?

Yes. We are based in Munich, Germany, and work with interior designers and studios worldwide.
We coordinate international shipping and logistics to align with your project timeline.

Are returns possible?

No. You are working with a bespoke rug studio. All rugs are custom-made to order and produced specifically for each project.
